I LOVE THIS LLITTLE MAN

I haven't laughed so hard in so long! These boys were absolutely hilarious! you can tell from the bottom picture(I know I look hideous) that we were laughing so hard! Ryler did this thing with his shoulder-he would lift it up and down. I don't know where he got it from! At one point ryler was down on his knees and turin was rubbing his head?! What?! Where do they get these crazy ideas!!!

2010!! Here's to a New year!!!!!

We had such a fun new year's eve! I worked during the day and then we went over to Justin and Lindsays for some yummy food and a good time and boy did we have some of each! They made lots of yummy food and we ate lots of it! We watched the programs on t.v. and let the kids play! We played apples to apples! it was funny because the boys were playing their games and it was Lindsay, Aimee and I and we started talking about the funniest things- from the positions we use to throw up to all sorts of funny things! We laughed so much and had such a good time! We put Ryler to bed at their house and he was so good! We got him up for the countdown to midnight and he was so confused! We did the countdown and ate some more! Lindsay made skookies and boy they were delish! Isn't it pathetic how much I love food? I feel like in every post I talk about the food so much!
Thank you so much for such a fun night and thanks for including us!!! We love you guys!

Our little Christmas

We had a rough family Christmas! I told the story in the post about Christmas at my parents! I got the flu literally minutes after opening our gifts! The good part was that neither Branden or Ryler got it! But sadly my dad did and Brandens mom, dad and brother did too! We were supposed to go on a weekend getaway with Branden's family up to the Zermatt in Park City but unfortunately we didn't go! We were so sad but the flu took it out of me for the whole weekend! We had a fun Chrismas while it lasted.  Branden got me the most beautiful ring! and my favorite lotion from BBW and a new cell phone cover! Ryler and I gave Branden his car registration and new hair clippers a shirt, a sweater and a movie! I loved Christmas morning but the night and the rest of the weekend could have been better!

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas morning has always been a favorite of mine, when we were little my brother and I  would run out to the living room together but not before we woke each other up.  I was always the first up and I would run all through the house waking everyone up(usually around 4 or 5am.) when we moved to our house in Draper we would run and look over the banister from upstairs and that is the best! Now that I am married and out of the house we just walk in and get to see the whole set up from the front door! This Christmas morning was wierd because our baby boy was at Gandma's and Gandpa's.  He spent the night because my mom wanted us at her house at 6am!!! We got there and just loved looking at the tree and my parents have always done an amazing setup!
We played in our stockings while we waited for Ry to wake up and when he did we got started into the presents! He wasn't as fun as I thought he would be and I think it was mostly because he didn't feel as good as he normally does! After an hour or two he did better he helped Gandma lift the gifts and would take them to everyone in the room! We got absolutely SPOILED from my parents! holy moly!! They gave us a Blu Ray Player and a 32'' flatscreen for our room! that was "our" big gift! anyone who knows my mom knows that wasn't it! she got each of us specific things that she had payed attention to things that we had mentioned over the year that we wanted.  She got me a straightener and some maternity clothes and some fun girly stuff like BBW stuff and Branden got lots of clothes and some new shoes, an electric razor! Now the fun part was that Ryler got just as much if not more stuff than we did! That kid got spoiled rotten! He got so many toys and clothes and fun things to play with! My in laws gave me a gift card for Christmas that we used to get Ryler a bunk bed and I will have to post pictures sbut my parents basically got everything in the room for him to play with! They did the money thing again this year where they tape $1's to every present and this year we each got $30! Ryler is getting quite the savings account.
The Lakes come over every Christmas and wow that was fun, Ryler got even more toys and clothes from them.  We are doing  a CARS theme for his room and he pretty much has everything under the sun for his room that has to do with cars!!!
A sad ending to such a fun day! After a fun day we headed home to unload the cars and take a nap with Ryler because he was so tired! After we woke up from our nap I was feeling really nauseaus! I just thought it was pregnancy and we were going to open the gifts under our tree and I was dragging my feet on it because I felt so sick! Well we did it anyway and ten minutes after I opened my big gift from my hubby which was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen I started throwing up and it didn't stop until 5am the next morning and I was in the bathroom every 15 minutes! It was so awful and I felt so bad because Branden kept saying it was the worst Christmas he could remember! I am sorry hunny:(
Wow what a great Christmas besides me getting sick! Ryler is such a joy and we cant believe next year we will have 2 kids at homea to celebrate with!!!!

"Choose Ye This Day"

"Choose Ye This Day was the theme for 2010! There is always a theme and it is so fun to see what Doug and Jolene think it needs to be, they fast and pray every year to see just what it is and this year it was "Choose Ye This Day" It was perfect To start the night out we have appetizers which is always sushi and we were in charge of a second appetizer and we chose to take my mom's corn dip( thanks mom) We ate and played a fun game where there are questions about Chrismas that we have to answer like 'what was your favorite Christmas gift growing up' etc. We exchanged gifts among the kids and parents for those of us who weren't going to be there Christmas morning. Justin and Lindsay were SO SO clever, they had asked what we wanted and I made a joke saying that if she knew where to buy a money tree that we want that! well nothing more was said and they literally gave us a MONEY TREE it was adorable. They cut it out of cardboard and painted it green and attached to it was a bunch of ones! It was so cute and so much thought went into making it! It was absolutely great.  Sean gave branden and I a gift that was really for Branden because I am so weak I could never use it but he gave us an Iron Gym(pull up bar) He said in his card that the wives would enjoy it if the husbands used it regularly! Branden was so excited and he has wanted one for a really long time! Sweet Jared and Michelle gave Branden some BBall shorts and me my favorite lotion from BBW! They were so sweet to think of us this year! thank you so much!
From there we went into the nice dining room and had Christmas dinner which was Turkey dinner and it was amazing! The table is always so beautifully decorated and it is such a fun time.  Unfortunately Ryler had to go to bed around this time because with him being sick I wanted him to get as much rest as he could.  We had to be to my parents at 6 so he needed sleep! We ate dinner and Started our program, we always watch the Natavity and everyone is given something to speak on that has been prayerfully decided by Branden's parents! Brandens talk was on choosing the things that matter most and mine was on choosing to be Holy.  it is always so spiritual and I am so grateful to have such a Christ Centered Christmas Eve! It sets the mood for Christmas day! We changed into our matching pajamas and we took a lot of funny pictures as syou can tell and the last picture is of us reading The Polar Express and sipping our hot cocoa! Thank you for such a fun night, Im really sad Ryler was asleep for most of it! We dropped him off at my parents on our way home so he didn't have to get up early like us! it was wierd going home without him! Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!!!!!!!

Christmas Eve Brunch!

Last year Branden and I decided that we would start our own tradition by doing a brunch on Christmas Eve! This year we invited everyone from both sides of the families because Madison was in town and that was the only day for everyone to see her! She was so sweet and we had a ton of fun! We had a long and interesting  week leading up to Christmas because Ryler had gotten really sick, the Monday before Christmas I took him to the Dr to find out he had strep and an ear infection!!! This was the first time he had ever been sick with anything major and I was a stress case about it! He didn't seem to get much better and on Thursday (Christmas Eve) my mom noticed a rash on his whole body and I remember the Dr saying to me if you notice anything strange, a rash, a fever, call me and bring him in.  I hadn been working so much the few dayd vefore christmas that I hadnt been home much or really even seen ryler! So after everyone left brunch Branden and I took him to the Dr again and gave him something stronger and a few days worth of prednisone to get rid of the rash! So now that my story took forever I will tell about our brunch! We had a cassarole that I made that morning and yummy buscuits and gravy! We had tons of food and I was worried it was too much but literally every crumb was eaten.  I was so glad because I didnt want to be stuck with left overs because we were going out of town with Branden's family for the weekend! Everyone brought Madi's Christmas presents and she brought ours, which we all loved! The Grandparents got a school picture of her that is absolutely beautiful! She looks so grown up, I dont like it.  I remember when she was just a little girl and depended on us for everything while she was here and now she doesn't.  She gave us the same picture but our picture was framed! It is front and center of our living room! She got some great gifts from the grandparents but she was the cutest when she opened something she would say "OH MY GOSH I've been wanting this for so long!" We pulled out this package and we said "we didnt know where it had come from" aka you know who! she opened up the package and it was just what she had wanted....an Easy Bake Oven! she was so grateful and so cute! I wish we could have seen her more this trip! We love you madi! Christmas Eve morning was great now tonight we go to the Bingham's for our Christmas Program!

Highland Care Center, Dinner and Lighta

Santa came to see all the old folks at Highland Care Center! This is a family tradition of Branden's Family that we love.  These old people are so sweet and they are just like little children trapped in this place that they don't know what it is.

We went for our first Dr appt today and it was so fun! I always think its a little scary to go to the first appt.  There is always a tiny bit of fear that there might not be a heartbeat! But no worries there was! My Dr said that my due date should be around July 20th! I cant wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl, either way I dont care! As long as a happy healthy baby comes out I am happy! Next appt is January 13th!

All Aboard....The Polar Express!

Wow what a night that I will never forget! First of all we did the Polar Express 2 years ago and after we got home from our date we took a pregnancy test and found out we were pregnant with Ryler! We decided this had to be a yearly tradition.  Ryler was so cute, he wore some warm pajamas and went up for a fun night! We got on the train and instantly Ry was loving it, he was so curious looking around and looking out the train window! He loved the Elf named Star! When the train started going he would wave at the poeple who were waiting on the street for the train to pass.  I must have been really emotion from the pregnancy but there were about 5 times that I almost started crying because I just felt like we were doing what we knew and what we should as a little family.  We dont have a lot of money but we sure try to do fun things for Ryler.  He soaked in every minute of it and you could tell he was having so much fun.  They passed out cookies and hot chocolate just like they do on the movie and in the book.  He got his own cookie and sipped his hot cocoa.  He would look at the lights that were lining the inside of the train and say "WOW" I am so proud of him, Im so proud to say he is mine.  I have reflected a lot this Christmas on the blessings that I have been given and he is most definitely the biggest one! Sorry im getting side tracked! We listened to this cute old lady who I swear it was her first day on the job read the book and she was terrible, it was hilarious though. She was so sweet but so not animated! The train drove by and saw Santa and then before we knew it Santa was on our train! Ryler loves Santa and I was so surprised that he took the bell right out of Santa's hand.  He was just like the kid on the movie, it was like he BELIEVED!! We sang Christmas songs as we drove back to the train station and off we went to dinner at the Hub our favorite place in Heber! I ended up driving home and it was so scary because a deer ran right out in front of my car and it was terrifying! That night certain things happened so that I was driving.  Branden wanted to eat his treat we had got and so I decieded to drive, Branden has never had a deer run out in front of him.  Once we got down Provo Canyon I felt that Heavenly Father had promted me to ask if I could drive because maybe Branden would have reacted wrong or would have been driving too fast! I love when I can look back and say I listened to that still small voice!  We had a great night as a family and we cant wait to do this next year with Rylers little brother or sister! ring ring....do you hear the bell ringing?

Little Santa's vs. Big Santa

Ever since we have had Ryler we have a tradition of one going with Justin and Lindsay and Turin  to see Santa and two having Ryler and Turin wear a Santa suit! It is the most adorable thing and this year was even better than last because these two cute Santa's were running around the mall! Everyone kept pointing and smiling and telling us how cute they were and it was so fun! The best part is the whole time I just kept saying I cant believe he is my child. He was so adorable! Him and Turin make the best team! They are so funny together, they play really well for being two kids basically the same age! Justin and Linds thought Turin might freak out a little so we had Ryler go first thinking Turin would see Ry do  it and think it wouldn't be scary! Ryler wouldn't cry if a monster came up to him.  He is such a chill baby, its wierd! Turin is more normal, most kids cry when they see santa! Ryler went first and just looked at me like" okay mom take the picture and let me know when your done!"  and Turin was adorable! I just wanted to hug him, he was a little afraid!

We took our own pictures( thats why they are a little yellow) I cannot justify paying $17 for ONE picture with Santa and okay im going to vent for a minute......MALL SANTA'S ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Last year we thought the Santa wasn't that great so we were going to go to a different mall, well we wanted to go to In-n-out and so we went to University Mall again! I was SO dissapointed with the Santa again and it was even a different guy!  I nicely asked the Santa which leg would you like me to put Ryler on-without saying A WORD he pointed to his right knee! WHAT??? Wouldn't you expect Santa to say "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas, What would you like for Christmas little Boy?" NOPE he didn't say one word!  whew! okay sorry im done!
It was a fabulous night and we ended up walking the mall and putting the boys in the strollers and everyone once again was pointing a smiling at how cute they were! Proud mom and aunt for sure!!!

Decorating for Christmas!

I absolutely love to decorate for Christmas and i get so so excited but it makes such a mess and I know in a matter of a week I will be wishing it was all gone because I have so many decorations it looks like Santa's  big red bag exploded in my house!  It was so much more fun to decorate this year because of Ryler.  I am so much more excited for this Christmas than I have been in a long time and it is because it is all about the kids! My parent's have always done such an amazing job with Christmas and its by far my favorite holiday. Ryler was so interested in what we were doing, he wanted to help Branden put up the tree and once we did he was scared of it! He loves to just sit back on the floor, point and say "WOW" it is the cutest thing ever.  Every time I come down the stairs with him in the morning he would say "WOW" he would exagerate his mouth so much that it was adorable! We thought that he would take all the decorations off of the tree and play with everything that we only decorated 3/4 of the way down and now that he is scared of it he wont touch it.  Our tree just looks silly for no reason now! I got to put up some of my favorite decorations which are my Willow Tree Nativity and my cute Christmas plates(sorry no pic of those.)  I am so excited for Christmas!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Part 2-Bingham Family

Since Branden's family was having their Thanksgiving here in Salt Lake and since we had something we wanted to share we did both families.  We came after dinner just in time for some fun games and for dessert!!! Aunt Sandy's pies!!! The best pies you'll ever have!  We had so much fun, Jolene put on such an amazing program and day for everyone she hosted 52 people at the ward house.  We showed everyone Ryler's shirt and it was hilarious because when we told Jolene I was so thankful she wasnt holding something because she would have dropped it.  She read it and threw her hands up and screamed!!!  Its always the dads that get it afterward! Poor doug pretty much heard Jolene scream and after he saw her crying I think he got it!  Well then off Ryler was to play, he ended up getting knocked out by a family friend and now has a permanent scar above his left eyebrow! Thats what happens when kids play i guess-or when adults aren't careful;) It was fun because all the boys ended up shooting hoops and playing, so I walked up to Branden and said will you help load your moms car? and he gave me this guilt trip about how he was spending quality brother time by throwing the football and shooting hoops. He did a pretty good job at justifing himself! He of course ended up helping, it was such a fun day and we were exhausted by the time it was over!  Being me and pregnant we left and looked for the closest McDonalds.....well folks nothing is open on Thanksgiving! We ended up at Del Taco! How pathetic, I just had a craving that needed to be fulfilled!

Happy Thanksgiving Part 1-Castillo Family

My sweet boy who had a very special message to give!
Decorating the Christmas tree! We only had 12' to decorate!

My mom bought me this apron to wear while we cooked, Im in charge of Frog eye salad, and mashed potatoes!

Ryler had to nap so he had dinner before everyone else! he is so stinkin cute!

This is what the boys do while mom and I cook!

This year it was my parents turn, we spent most of the day with them and we had so much fun decorating the tree and cooking and the best part was Ryler had a special message for everyone!  He wore a shirt that said on the front "hey listen up, this little turkey has something to say" and on the back it said "im going to be a big brother"  It was funny because as I was getting ready to take off his jacket my mom started walking away so I made up a lie real fast and said...uh mom come look at this rash on his arm.  Well she came over right away. I took off the jacket and they read the front, they read the back and instantly my mom got teary!  Ryler was so cute he had no idea that he was the one sharing such great news! He ran around all day looking as adorable as ever! This year I wanted to post a few things Im grateful for:
1. My Family
2. My sweet kids
3. My membership in the Church
4. Both of our jobs
5. A roof over my head
6. The simple things that make us smile
7. Great friends
8. My nephew Turin
9.The struggles that we have that make us stronger
10. he he my camera to post to my blog!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

We're Expecting!!

Our sweet Ryler and Madison are going to have another sibling in the house around the middle of July! We are so excited for this little baby to come into our lives, we have said all along that we would like the kids to be around 2 years apart and boy will they! Their birthdays will be around 3 weeks apart! Both of our birthdays are July 2nd and July 29th, Ryler's is August 15 and Madison is September 30th! We will be a busy family for the summer every year.  We like the idea of having a family vacation every year or every other year be our birthday presents!
We are so grateful for the opportunity we have to be parents and to have a family.  So many people struggle getting pregnant or losing their children.  I have recently had a close friend of mine lose a baby, he lived for 1 hour 36 minutes and then he returned to our Father in Heaven.  My heart has just ached for her because of such a loss.  I cant even imagine the pain that her and her husband have gone through.  I am grateful to be pregnant and some days when I feel sick I just need to think that I should be grateful! I cant wait to have another baby, not too excited about getting big and fat again but these precious babies are worth every pound!

WOW! WOW! and WOW!!!

I love how things work out in our lives, a few weeks ago I was working late every single day and was just not happy with the way things were going.  I decided that starting October 22nd I would no longer work past my set hours.   Which were that I would get off at 7pm every day, and have Wednesdays off and not work them no matter what.  It was really hard to do at first but now I think that I need to be home to have quality time with my family and put my sweet boy to bed.  A week before I started implimenting this new schedule I got word that I needed to meet with a member of the bishopric, we all know what that means.....a new calling.  I thought to myself, Im ready for this and I have been wanting something to do in the ward to be able to serve.  Just like I thought it was a new calling but a bit more of a bigger calling than I  had thought I would EVER be called to.  A member of the Bishopric tells me how a lot of prayer and thought has gone into this calling and I am thinking to myself the whole time it is going to be primary or nursery or something along those lines.  But when he said a lot of prayer and thought had gone into it I started to get nervous.  He said ''we woulld like to call you to be the new YOUNG WOMEN'S PRESIDENT!!!!! I just started bawling and could not believe it.  I told him I would be more than honored to and could not believe that Heavenly Father would trust in me so much to run the Young Women Program in our ward.  I was then told that I needed to pray and go to the temple to pick my Presidency....WHAT??? oh my gosh this is way more than I can handle!!! I did just that and went to the Temple 4 times over this whole thing.  It took me 3 weeks to choose people, I wanted to choose women in the ward that I knew I could work with well and have the right spirit about them.  I feel like picking the right women can either make or break a Presidency.  I love the women I have chosen and I cannot wait to get things up and running.  As of right now there aren't any Young Women in the ward but there will be one coming in December and one in June.  I am so excited to work with these Young Women, they are so impressionable at this age and I just pray that Heavenly Father will help me every step of the way so I can do and be the things that he needs me to be.  I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve in my ward and to be an instrument in the Lords work.  I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and he will guide me.  I got set apart yesterday as well as the rest of the Presidency and we have our fist leadership training this Saturday!!!!

Happy Halloween

We had such a good time with family this year, we did our traditional chili party but this year we spiced it up with homemade root beer and a witches hat made out of rice krispie treats! Who doesn't love to get together with food? We had fun dressing up, I dressed up for work so I chose to be a ladybug for that and just carried the costume through to our party that night and Branden wore a football jersey and Ryler was his skeleton. We did dry ice in our root beer and that was so much fun to see, it was kind of scary I was afraid Branden was going to burn himself because I have never ever used dry ice and it was really cool.  Everyone stayed for a little while and then left to go pass out candy to the trick or treaters by their house and we put on a fun movie and waited for trick or treaters too. I had to put the pic of Ryler waiting at my neighbors door because that was the only house that he went trick or treating to and we thought he was home but he left just before we went over, I gave him crap the next day at church that he ruined Rylers Halloween because he didn't answer.  It was kind of funny though while Ryler was waiting for him to answer he was being so cute he kept saying "whats that" it was so funny.  We ended the night eating once again some pizza and cuddling up with Beetlejuice!

Ward Halloween Party

Our ward did a Halloween party this year and it was so much fun, we had tons of fun food and hung out with friends, learned the Thriller dance and got to see everyones cool costumes! We went as the skeleton family and that was fun and way easy.  I bought Ryler's outfit a while ago at Kohls and thought he needed Halloween pair of pajamas and as it came closer to Halloween and this was the only party we were going to we decided to just have him wear his pajamas and it worked out perfect because my parents let us borrow their skeleton jackets and it was so much fun.  It was so fun to see some people doing the dance, most men are pretty uncordinated and that was fun to watch.  We saw a cute girl in our ward named Emilee who will soon be in Young Women's and she just loves Ryler.  She thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and they had so much fun together.  She just carries him around and plays with him.  We had a ton of fun!!

Fall Pics!

We took these pics a few weeks ago and I have just forgotten to post them.  We took Ryler to Hee Haw farms while they were closed during the day and snapped some cute pics! It was naptime so he was actually a huge pill but we were able to get some cute pictures in between the crying and with us acting like total dorks!
