Highland Care Center

Whoa I don't even know how to begin blogging about this fun family activity.  I had to work so Branden met me with the kids and we drove in my car to the care center.  Ha ha pathetically enough we got a flat tire as we were pulling in.  One little stress to start off the fun evening.  I had to remind myself that service isn't service unless it is a sacrifice.  My amazing dad drove right up to fix it(of course the tools we needed to fix it aren't in my car) We got to go in and start the fun, this is one of my favorite Christmas traditions that we do.  The family goes around to everyones rooms and asks them if they would like to participate in the Christmas festivities, the boys(Ryler and Turin) helped bring the people in, who can say no to two adorable little boys.  We did so many fun thing including Christmas bingo, read a fun story that is the left and right story, read The Night Before Christmas and sang them some Christmas carols. My mother in law buys lots of little trinkets and treats for them to get a prize when they win bingo.  It is such a great experience to see the look on those peoples faces, the joy that they have for someone to visit them is so great.  It think some people never get visitors so I bet that they love these people that go in and do service for them. It really brings the true meaning of Christmas to do some service for someone and to make them feel good and give them the warm fuzzies for the season.
We had dinner reservations at P.F. Changs(everyones favorite) we had such a delicious dinner then decided to walk downtown to see the lights.  It was a wonderful night and I am so grateful for family to get together to enjoy everyones company.  We started our walk and took tons of fun pictures of Jared, Michelle, Sean and Branded doing really funny things.  Sean carried Turin on his shoulders most of the walk and he loved it.  We were walking and came upon the Marriot Hotel and suddenly my in laws decided that they needed to have my sister in law Lindsay take a rest.  Well thank goodness they listened to the promptings of the spirit because as Lindsay was walking into the hotel her water broke.  She is pregnant with twins and only 28 weeks along.  It was so sad since her hubby wasn't with her, he was out of town.  She had my in laws with her who took such good care of her and rushed her to the hospital. We(Lindsay and I) really married into a wonderful family.  They took control and did everything that needed to happen that night to ensure that she was taken care of and gave her a lot of support when her husband wasn't with her. Overall it was wonderful to spend time together as a family and we had such a good time laughing and telling jokes and just being together.  Thank you for a fun Christmas tradition that we look forward to every year!
